Smoke Trails

Smoke Trails in 3D can be a daunting task, especially when the objects emitting smoke move at rapid speeds. This course is designed to help you easily tackle 3D volumetric trails, executed with Houdini. You’ll learn how to create realistic and procedural missile trails, and learn how to source them properly into a smoke simulation. After custom disturbances, winds and refinements, you’ll set them up for lighting and final render in Houdini’s Mantra renderer. Lastly, you’ll end the course with a simple composite in Nuke – which can also be achieved in other preferred post-processing software.
